The department of experimental psychology at Ghent University invites applications for a 3-year postdoctoral fellowship in cognitive neuroscience.
The successful applicant will possess a PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or related field. He/she will be part of a research network focusing on the neural basis of knowledge and cognitive control (see website: users.ugent.be/~mbrass/goa/Bello.html).
Experience with one or more of the methodologies that are central to the research network, i.e., fMRI, ERP, TMS, or computational modeling, is highly desirable. Depending on the applicant's qualifications and interests, he/she will design and conduct behavioral and neuroimaging experiments, analyze data, develop theoretical models of neural systems, prepare manuscripts for publication, and participate in international conferences.

University of Birmingham, School of Psychology: 10 PhD Studentships available for October 2008
The School of Psychology seeks excellent applicants for up to 10 University and Research Council funded research studentships for students wishing to start a research degree in October.
These studentships are available in any of the areas covered by the School of Psychology's three major subject groupings:
- Behavioural Neuroscience (neuroimaging, neuropsychology, psychopharmacology, cognitive neurophysiology)
- Developmental, Social and Applied Psychology (developmental psychology, forensic, clinical, social cognition)
- Language, Cognition and Perception (visual perception, reading, speech and gesture production)

Research Post
Department of Psychology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milano, Italy.
A 12 month full-time contract for a research post will be available in the Department of Psychology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milano, Italy.
The contract will start in June 2008.
The contract can be renewed for further 12-month periods.
Project
The post is connected to a project entitled "Cognitive and communication processes in media use" and is completely funded by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. The project is being led by Professor Alessandro Antonietti.
Requirements
- Ph. D. degree in psychology or allied disciplines.
- Language skills: fluent English (written and speech).
- A clear interest in the topic of the project and proven qualifications for doing research.
Place
The research activities will be based in the Department and Faculty of Psychology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milano.
Salary
The salary is 1,345.00 euros per month. The salary is free from taxes. An insurance deduction (5.00%) might be applied (it depends on the nationality of the candidate).

The department of Experimental Psychology, Ghent University, is looking for a lecturer (docent) or senior lecturer (hoofddocent) in Psycholinguistics, starting from 1 October (see official profile below or at https://webster.ugent.be/vacatures/ZAP/PP02.html)
As of next academic year, the department will have four faculty members in Psycholinguistics (1 part-time), as well as many post-doctoral researchers and PhD-students working in this domain. The Department offers a stimulating research environment, in which the main topics include psycholinguistics, cognitive control, cognitive neuroscience, computational modeling, numerical cognition, and working memory. The department has facilities for behavioral research (RT labs, Audio labs, Video labs), eye-tracking (Eye-Link 1000), and neurocognitive research (ERP, fMRI, TMS).
